So, I want to create an RSS feed for my Lori Greenberg site. What that means is, there would be a little icon that you could click to subscribe. Every time the site is updated (new beads added in this instance) it would let you know. At least, that is my understanding of what a feed is, and I could be way off. So, what does one do? Google it, of course. I see sites that say you can buy software to do that…I’m not that interested. Then I see a link that starts by saying that if I can learn html then I can easily learn to create an RSS2.0 feed. Awesome! Better yet, the author says they’ll walk me through it. I start to feel excited because I’ve tried this before and have given up. Maybe even more than once. So I get ready to dig in.
Then I read the first sentence:
“Since RSS 2.0 must validate as XML, the first line in your rss feed must be the XML declaration. ”
Here we go again. Or shall I say, here I don’t go again. See for yourself…it only gets worse.
Did I mention that there are new beads up on my site?
